Our clients Scottish Power are looking for a **Financial Performance Assistant** to join their team based in Glasgow. This role will be on a 9 month contract with hybrid style working available.

**Hours**: Full time - 3 days in office and 2 days at home
**Duration**: 9 months long term sickness cover

The main purpose of this role is to support the provision of financial information and operational reporting by providing advice and transactional support.
- Work with budget holders across the HR and H&S function and provide advice and admin support in the Purchase Order (PO) process, including raising all relevant PO’s.
- Provide advice on spend v’s forecast and develop analysis and insights for the operational performance monthly reports for review by the HR Business Performance Manager, identifying any risks and issues and escalating these to the performance manager and/orbudget holders.
- Support in preparation of budget and forecast files by preparing and consolidating budget reports ensuring accurate year end position.
- Prepare and review the unmatched receipts process to ensure receipts are valid and invoices are being delivered on time. Highlight any areas of non-compliance.
- Manage the Consultancy approvals process, working with stakeholders to ensure all requests are appropriately challenged and justified in line with Group policy as well as being within External Services budget.
- Support in response to budget reduction tasks set by Group or Control, identifying opportunities and making recommendations for budget reallocation where required.

**Criteria Essential/Desirable**
- Experience in a financial discipline, or working with financial processes, systems and reporting.
- Ability to analyse financial data and explain variances.
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels, constructively challenging where appropriate.
- Excel experience is essential - SAP wouldbe advantegeous.
