To lead and support the imaging specialist team of radiographers to maximise resources in facilitating imaging training for radiographers and maintain a high-quality service for patients.
- To co-ordinate imaging training sessions and facilitate the imaging team time off the treatment units to conduct training with staff.
- Advising a range of staff groups on radiotherapy imaging and treatment techniques and oncological clinical radiotherapy issues.
- Recognised as a clinical expert in their field of practice and therefore support treatment units
- Be recognised as a clinical expert in radiotherapy imaging and treatment, developing clinical practice, giving expert advice and disseminating knowledge to the radiotherapy team, Oncology Centre, Trust and Nationally. To lead a team of radiotherapists on the treatment units ensuring all treatments are performed according to trust and department policy within the quality environment. Ensure that the equipment and associated support systems are run efficiently.
- To co-ordinate imaging training sessions and facilitate the imaging team time off the treatment units to conduct training with staff.
- To be able to provide positive, relevant, constructive and succinct feedback with regards to IGRT training and treatment techniques.
- To be able to participate in teaching sessions to large groups of radiographers
- To facilitate attendance at the Disease orientated group meetings to advise about imaging modalities.
- To facilitate imaging lead radiographers time for IGRT training by being able to work on the treatment units
- To work with the wider Multi-disciplinary team to maintain relevant IGRT training packages, and liaise with the Clinical Specialists if training information is against IGRT guidelines
- To ensure IGRT training packages are reviewed regularly, and information can be found in the Departmental Quality Management Systems.
- To be able to work with management to balance the needs of the clinical service against the needs of the individual
- To maintain own learning needs in regards to training and IGRT techniques and work with Clinical Specialist/Managers to maintain masters level learning
- To facilitate imaging training with the imaging team, implement related protocols and conduct audits regarding new imaging techniquesMaidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
