Qualifications/ Registration Will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of CCT Medical degree, MRCP (UK) or equivalent Advanced Life Support Experience/ Training Previous experience postgraduate experience, including higher medical training Previous experience as a Specialist Registrar. Part of this period may be in a post of equivalent responsibility and training potential Recent experience in Elderly Medicine Some experience of Ortho-geriatrics Major incident management training Knowledge Appropriate level of clinical knowledge Knowledge and application of up to date evidence-based practice Knowledge of Audit and Research Clinical Skills Experience in leading the multi-disciplinary management elderly patients Understanding of clinical risk management Communication Skills And Teaching Excellent written and verbal communication skills Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels Evidence of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels Ability to work constructively in a team environment Leadership skills To motivate and develop both medical staff and non-medical staff. Other requirements Ability to work independently as well as part of the ward-based team and Consultant team. To balance individual requirements against those of the Division and Trust as a whole Ability to gain the trust and confidence of colleagues and patients Commitment to developing new services Ability and desire to take part in Departmental management IT and Computer Skills
