We are looking for a Food Preparation Worker to join our team This position is responsible for preparing food in accordance with Portway House cafe standards and procedures.

**Responsibilities**
- Follow recipes, food preparation instructions, and standard procedures to prepare food.
- Label and portion food items according to standard procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and sanitized after use.
- Report any concerns or questions regarding the job to the supervisor or manager.
- Work at a fast pace while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Work cooperatively with employees of other departments and as required by management.
- Work at all times due to the increased activity during the holidays.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
- Ability to write simple instructions in English.
- Ability to follow oral instruction in writing.
- Ability to follow direction in person and on the phone.

**Salary**: £10.00-£11.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Food preparation: 2 years (required)
