**Appointment of up to five new Members to the Board of Historic Environment Scotland**

Formed in October 2015, we are a charity and the lead public body established to investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s rich historic environment. In 2019 we launched or new corporate plan - Heritage for All - which sets out how we can achieve our ambition of making a real difference to people’s lives; a difference to our health, to our economy, to our culture and to our environment.We want to make sure Scotland's heritage is cherished, understood, shared and enjoyed with pride, by everyone. We stand for our values; collaboration, professionalism, innovation, openness and respect.**Skills/Experience Required**:

- Historic Environment Scotland seeks Board members who have the ability and experience to contribute at a strategic level and the capacity and commitment to grow into the role and develop their skills, whether or not they have prior experience of being on a board.-
**Length of term, time commitment and remuneration**

The appointments are for up to four years and members will receive a fee of £228 per day for a time commitment of up to two days per month. Reasonable travel and subsistence, childcare and carer receipted expenses that appear to Historic Environment Scotland to be necessary for the proper discharge of duties as a member of the Board will be reimbursed.
