RL Commercial, established in 2023 as a joint venture by the Rugby Football League (RFL) and Super League Europe (SLE), consolidates all commercial rights across every level of Rugby League. This includes rights previously held by the RFL (such as the Challenge Cup, Championship and League 1, Women's Super League, and the England Teams) and those previously held by SLE.

Rugby League is more than just a sport; it represents a cultural identity, a passion, and a practical force for good in communities. Its history is rooted in determination to succeed against the odds, fighting discrimination and intolerance, and being an honest and authentic sport that makes a difference to its fans, their families, and communities. Since 1895, it has delighted fans across the country with its commitment to excellence and social impact.

With the upcoming departure of the current Chair in July, we are seeking another independent, recognised, credible and strategic leader to join the Board as the first Executive Chair of RL Commercial. In consultation with the outgoing Chair, the Board, and key stakeholders, RL Commercial has determined that it is more appropriate, currently, for the business to have a full-time rather than non-executive Chair, allowing the Chair to commit the time necessary to lead the organization into a key phase in its development

The Executive Chair will devise and implement, in conjunction with the MD and executive leadership team, a strategic plan that enables RL Commercial to align all elements of the sport of Rugby League to short term and long-term commercial growth. They will demonstrate the gravitas and credibility to deliver a compelling commercial vision which brings all stakeholders into alignment with commercial growth in the interests of the whole sport and will be a problem solver who can enable RL Commercial to fulfil the commercial potential of the sport of Rugby League in the years ahead.

All Rugby League companies are based at the Etihad Campus, Manchester. The Etihad is an accessible venue, but we would be pleased to discuss any specific accessibility needs on a one-to-one basis.
