**Salary**: £140 - 200 per day

Leader Education is currently recruiting for an experienced SEN teacher for an SEMH specialist school in Barnsley.

The job:

- Provide support to students with SEMH needs in a small group or 1-1 setting
- You will be an inspiring educator with excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills.
- You will offer empathy and understanding to your learners needs
- Experience of working with students with SEMH - previously known as EBD, BESD, SEBD
- Team Teach trained would be beneficial although this training can be provided for free
- Help students meet the objectives in their education and health care plans
- Support students in managing and regulating their feelings
- Ensure the best quality of education for each pupil
- Help create and maintain a secure and happy atmosphere
- Engage with the students throughout their learning whilst in the classroom
- Model and nurture positive relationships and strong partnerships
- Liaising with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes.

You:

- Have experience of working with children/students with SEMH needs
- Are patient, sensitive and compassionate
- Are understanding and have empathy
- Have a passion for teaching and learning
- Ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
- Ideally Team Teach trained but not essential - free training is available
- Are motivated and enthusiastic
- Have great communication skills
- Have a fun but firm presence.
