Planner

**Job Description Summary**:
Reporting to Dowty Planning Leader this role will be the key link to establishing a Spares planning model, executing and controlling performance for Spares. There will be opportunity to work closely with multiple business functions including commercial, planning, fulfilment & logistics. Inventory is another key aspect for this role, forecasting and helping drive inventory improvement projects across functions.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Continuous development of spares planning model, implementation and control
- Monitor/control stocking locations internationally to support spares demand
- Monitor spares performance and link in with fulfilment team for continuous improvement to performance level
- Optimize inventory to support all spares orders
- Inventory focal - own forecasting overall site inventory and help drive projects to reduce site inventory in line with op plan
- Report spares WIP levels and owning spares raw material entitlement
- Prepare dashboards to report on production performance which reflect output and delinquencies against targets
- Co-ordinate with Logistics site goods in/stores & despatch processes
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy - reduce excess, increase turns, stock takes
- Timely release of work orders (MHS) & kits to the shop (Spares)
- Work closely with Planning & Fulfilment to understand priorities/timelines. Monitor production performance to the plan, take pro-active actions to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan
- Work closely with commercial team on spares strategy
- Maintain Integrity of system (Syteline) - ERP system

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent) or experience

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Proven experience in a manufacturing supply chain position
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Syteline)
- Experience in the materials function (Sourcing, Planning, Fulfilment)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of the business
- Flexibility, self-motivation and a can-do attitude are essential
- A strong team player - able to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment
- Problem solve and identify process improvements
