The Emergency Duty Service (EDS) operates out of hours to meet the needs of some of Wiltshire’s most vulnerable residents.
**LIVE **WORK** SUPPORT**
EDS provides various functions including the ‘out of hours’ aspect of the statutory Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) role, addressing any urgent vulnerable adult safeguarding alerts and any other unforeseen Adult Social Care crisis which needs urgent response. In addition, the team will support the council’s housing department in relation to emergency housing provision issues.
**About the role**
You will have direct conversations with members of the public and other professionals to establish what the issues and concerns are. You will respond to contacts and resolve queries and concerns wherever possible, passing to duty Social Workers when required.
**About you**
You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills especially when working with customers who may be angry, upset and stressed. With two years’ experience of a customer orientated/administrative/ social care or health environment you will be self-sufficient in planning and organising own work, including recording, storing and retrieving required data and information.
