**What will I be doing?**

As a team leader, you will be tasked with managing and leading support services for individuals with autism in the Edinburgh areas. You will be directly supporting those who deliver care and support to individuals with autism and learning difficulties and will be able to build a strong network of autism practitioners across the region who provide outstanding care and support.

You will be supporting the Service Manager to lead and motivate the team of autism practitioners whilst ensuring quality, compliance standards are met, through delegated management tasks. Using your existing experience as well as developing new skills, you’ll act as a role model and enable teams to develop their skills and abilities. You will be Line managing Autism support workers, you will ensure services are delivered in a compliant manner and lead on improvements and the development of support services.
Using your outstanding communication skills, you’ll collaborate with agencies, multi-disciplinary teams and families to implement support plans to help individuals to succeed in their day-to-day lives.

You will play an essential role in guaranteeing the quality of our service delivery and ensuring that we are always improving the support which we deliver. As part of your role you will provide support within the services whilst also acting as a role model to our team of Autism practitioners, by demonstrating best practices.

The team leader will manage 1x 24/7 large care packages for individual with autism in their own tenancies, this includes supervising staff, development of staff, auditing service and reviewing and updating support plans/risk assessments.

This is a full-time position with office weekday hours, however some flexibility with evening and weekend work is required. Access to a car is preferable due to travelling between services to support practitioners.

**Key responsibilities**
- Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model.
- Motivate, support and mentor staff to ensure good teamwork and provide effective supervision to your team members.
- Ensure service users receive tailored person-centred support which meets and improves their health and wellbeing needs.
- An understanding of how to put principles of dignity, choice, independence, privacy, rights and fulfilment into practice.
- Organised and meticulous with an ability to maintain effective record keeping systems.
- Managing staff rotas, their annual leave and absences to ensure a consistently high-quality service is being provided.

**What will I need?**

To join us as a team leader, you will need:

- Autism knowledge, an understanding of learning disabilities or a background in social work
- Experience gained within a supervisory and/or management role
- A qualification in health and social care, or the willingness to gain both an SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management for Care Services (LMC) qualification which can be supported by the organisation.
- A good level of IT literacy, including MS Word and Excel
- A full UK Driving License

Additionally, as part of your role, you will be required to occasionally undertake shift work, including weekends and evenings so flexibility towards working hours is key.

On Call and Backup is required on a rota basis, this is paid above Salary.
