ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?*

You will be required to supervise the warehouse operation in order to continuously improve standards and processes and ensure the best possible service levels are delivered at all times.
To ensure orders are accurately picked and packed correctly to ensure the goods arrive at their final destination without concern.

Ensure the role holder is fully aware of latest processes and be able to train and support Operatives with their day-to-day activities.
- Ensure all operatives are trained and documentation is completed in line with the warehouse handbook requirements.
- Monitor stock adjustments by the warehouse and be proactive in investigating them to achieve the goal of continuous improvement in this area.
- Manage the operation during the working hours of 7.30am to 8.30pm (this will be on a shift basis) on a rotation basis.
- Ensuring workloads and resources are correct requesting additional temporary staff if required.
- Motivate the team and recommend On the Spot awards as when this is appropriate.
- Deputise for the Warehouse Manager in their absence.
- Maintain a visible presence in the warehouse and ensure warehouse rules and procedures are followed.
- Ensuring the effective supervision of removal of packaging from goods received and appropriate disposal of waste materials.
- Reduce error warehouse rates and maintain at lowest possible level, agreeing to and/or initiating remedial action as required.
- Maintaining general good housekeeping within the warehouse to ensure the warehouse is a clean and safe working environment.
- Providing leadership to the team of Warehouse Operatives by motivating the team to optimise individual and collective work performance.
- Maintaining up to date and appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies to ensure ongoing satisfactory work on own performance and able to support Operatives in their daily duties.
- Conduct return to work interviews and absence review meetings as and when required.
- Ensure that any personnel issues are logged and dealt with, with support from Management or HR.
- Monitor time keeping of operatives ensuring any issues are dealt with in conjunction with the warehouse manager.
- Operate the department within the agreed operational service levels.
- To ensure relevant operational issues are owned, investigated and appropriate actions taken and communicated in line with Warehouse Manager.
- Be accountable for personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with Routeco’s core competencies and learning and development framework.
- Takes on additional tasks in order to meet departmental, project related or developmental objectives.
- Compliance with H&S policy and procedures.

- Experience in a warehouse supervisory role in commercially challenging, results driven, busy, warehouse environment.
- Role holder should be able to use their own initiative and take responsibility for Operatives working within the functional teams.
- Be flexible to operational working hours of the department.
- Forklift certification. Counterbalance - desirable.
- Clean driving licence.
- Have stock checking knowledge
