**Background**

The Royal College of Chiropractors is a registered charity promoting quality, safety and professionalism in chiropractic. We are an apolitical professional membership body that promotes and supports high standards of education, practice and research, enabling chiropractors to provide, and to be recognised for providing, high quality care for patients. We provide membership services to over 2000 healthcare professionals. We also run a national postgraduate training programme and organise courses and events and set practice standards for our members, working closely with the regulator.

We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to provide temporary cover for the Membership Officer for an initial period of 4 months.

**Summary**

Job title: Membership Officer

Job type: part-time (3 or 4 days per week)

Contract type: Fixed-term contract (1st July to 31st October)

Contract length: 4 months (with potential to go permanent)

Renumeration: £15 per hour

Expected hours: 9am - 5pm (30 mins for lunch)

Job location: Hybrid working (mix of home and office)

Office Location: Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Maintaining membership records
- Recording changes to membership status eg. cancellations, suspensions, return to work
- Monitoring membership data
- Processing Direct Debit instructions and handling payments
- Supporting the rest of the team with general administrative support as needed

This is not an exhaustive list and the postholder will be required to complete additional tasks compatible with the role as and when required.

**Person Specification**

**Essential skills/experience**:

- Friendly and approachable with strong verbal & written communication skills
- Efficient & accurate data entry skills with a keen attention to detail
- Proven administrative experience with strong IT skills, including Word and Excel, and a willingness to develop knowledge in other packages
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload
- Understand the importance of confidentiality
- Track record of working well in a small team environment and alone when needed
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Self-driven & pro-active
- Minimum of 2 years administrative experience (required)
- Minimum of 2 years office based experience (required)
- Authorized to work in the UK (required)

**Desirable skills/experience**:

- Experience with and/or understanding of membership organisations and membership database systems
- Previous experience of hybrid working (some remote training will be required)
