**Design Site representative - Tunnelling - HS2 - London**

**Role description**:
The role of a Design Site Representative is working on behalf of HS2 coordinating between the site based delivery team and the in-house design team. Over the last year the project team has trebled in size with more requirements being signed of each day tothere is a good chance that this role could become permanent in the future.

You need to have large project experience to be suitable for this position, used to how a major project operates at a consultancy level as there is more levels of interfacing between design, technical assurance, temporary works and the site based deliveryof these functions. Your expertise could come from tunnelling, geotechnics, temporary works, concept design, detail design and design co-ordination as part of a major 100million+ project.

Working with the design team, you will be responsible for;
- Knowledge of the design engineering of shafts, tunnels structures, geotechnical, tunnelling, TBM or SCL
- Knowledge of Geotechnical, Tunnelling, Deep Excavation, Mining principles
- Reviewing client documentation and providing timely input into the design process
- Tracking, Coordinating and reviewing design documentation, resources and outputs i.e. verification, technical reviews, interdisciplinary checking and review
- Ensure that relevant design management plans and assurance plans are adhered to
- Demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
- Ensure that the Construction Team, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers receive or have access to copies of the relevant documentation
- Appreciation of CDM obligations
- Working closely with the Design Manager and Inhouse Design team in planning, controlling, preparation of presentations, and Sit in / lead design meetings

**Qualifications**:

- Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).
- Large project experience ideally in the Infrastructure sector.
