**Role Overview**
To source and purchase materials for H&J Martin Construction at the most advantageous price, ensuring correct stock levels and storage of materials.

**What you'll do**

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive.
- Take lead on procurement activities
- Maintain good working relationships with site personnel
- Prepare and issue materials and subcontract enquiries
- Procurement of materials using COINS purchase to pay system
- Check quotations are compliant with specification and commercial requirements
- Liaise with commercial team/site managers on vendor selection
- Negotiate terms of orders and discounts
- Prepare and issues orders in a timely manner
- Carry out vendor appraisal as required
- Assist estimators where required
- Assist accounts department with any order related queries
- Maintain an open and honest relations with the supply chain
- Behave in an environmentally sensitive manner
- Carry out any other relevant duties as required
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Develop Procurement Reports
- Competent Navigation of Drawings / Specifications / Bills of Quantities
- Process Plant Orders

**What you’ll bring**
- Essential:_
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Buyer role
- Excellent IT skills particularly Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- High attention to detail
- Problem solving abilities
- Good negotiation skills
- Can work under pressure and multi task
- Have knowledge of budgets and finances
- Have a can-do attitude
- Desirable:_
- Experience with accounting software
