JOB ROLE: Buyer

THE COMPANY:
Alu-Fix UK Ltd are one of the UK's leading façade contractors, specialising in the design and installation of commercial glazing and cladding systems.

Due to sustained company growth we have a requirement for a buyer, working as part of the procurement team in our head office in Belfast. The role is on a permanent, fulltime basis.

THE ROLE:

- Identifying, Selecting and approving suppliers, in line with Company procedures.
- Maintain Approved Supplier List, ensuring that documentation are kept up to date.
- Placing Purchase Orders with Suppliers for Goods and Services in line with budget, quality and delivery requirements.
- Being the first point of contact for all suppliers and subcontractors.
- Expedite all orders and communicate with Operations Team on a daily basis to highlight any shortfalls or potential issues that may disrupt business operations.
- Provide analysis of costs and identify cost saving opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with current suppliers. Establish Supplier KPIs and Service Level Agreements.
- Attend internal cross functional progress meetings on a weekly basis via Teams
- Ensure that Purchase Order values are kept up to date capturing any variations and highlighting to the commercial Team.
- Assess and Evaluate supplier performance, providing feedback.
- Contact Suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues raising supplier non-conformances when issues arise.
- Support estimating and commercial team with tenders and price queries.

ABOUT YOU:

- Experience of working in a Procurement team preferably within a construction environment.
- Relevant Business, Manufacturing or Engineering Degree or proof of relevant experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel Previous experience of using an ERP system preferably SAGE
- Be able to work effectively under pressure and good ability to deal with multiple demands
- Strive for continuous improvement and feel comfortable to suggest improvement of process’
- Good analytical ability, with attention to detail
- Ability to network and build strong relationships both internally and externally

- Belfast, BT6 9FH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
