The QA Analyst within this hugely successful Financial Services corporate in Cardiff, will utilise their Test Automation skills to build automated testing frameworks for API & UI level testing. Experience with Postman, Rest Assured, Cypress or similaris preferred.
With Automation as their first approach, the company is seeking a QA Analyst who can undertake manual testing when required, but mostly enjoys automating testing With Frameworks and Processes already in place, the QA Analyst will play a key role in their continueddevelopment & evolution.
Working within an Agile SCRUM environment, the QA Analyst will need some experience of testing API’s & UI’s, together with Java skills (Core Java is highly beneficial), with JIRA being the tool of choice for Defects, Stories etc.
You'll collaborate with various teams to ensure the automated solutions improve overall testing coverage, thus minimising effort and risk associated with the manual testing process. In addition to this you'll be encouraged to suggest new tools and ways of workingthat will help the team to achieve an automation-first approach.
**What you'll be doing**:
Developing code for the implementation of the automation-first testing strategy and minimising the quantity of manual testing where practical
Understanding the entire cross-functional test framework including all manual and automated testing
Designing strategic long-term automation solutions for both the service and user interface layers
Collaborating with other team members to ensure testing disciplines and standards are met
Identifying and resolving any automation errors; taking ownership and accountability for issues
Adhering to test strategy, evidencing the required artefacts and meeting documentation standards
Collaborating with other Test Engineers across the business to create a Testing Community of Practice
**Skills & Experience**:
You'll be a hands-on QA & Test Analyst with strong knowledge of Java
Perhaps you also have a background in User Interface (UI) development with languages such as Javascript or Typescript
You should have experience in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks for both API and UI level testing - experience with Postman, Cypress, Rest Assured or similar is preferred
It would be great if you have some knowledge of performance test tools such as JMeter or Artillery
DevOps and Continuous Integration (CI/CD) using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitHub
You'll be an active participant in the testing community with a strong GitHub profile and several repositories showcasing your work
