Working to support adults, and their families, and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity, you'll maximise their potential to live independently.

You will assess social care needs using a person centred and strengths-based approach and contribute to the development of care and support plans. The role will require you to manage a caseload, including assessment of risk through direct work, within aquality assurance process. A focus of the role will be to ensure vulnerable people are safeguarded in line with ECC's statutory obligations.

**This Community Support Worker opportunity sits in our Local Linked Support Team based in Colchester.**

North Essex covers our offices in Colchester and Clacton. It is a diverse area to work in encompassing rural, coastal and urban communities all with their own unique challenges. Essex County Council work closely with their partners in North Essex, thosejoining teams in this area are uniquely positioned to be increasingly involved in partnership projects across local authorities and the NHS.

**Local Linked Support Team**

This is a community-based role within Colchester. You will become a partner of the local community in which our residents live, connecting Adults to their community and working with universal services.

Becoming an expert in the services within the local community and an advocate for promoting strengths, you will work exclusively with Adults who have a learning disability and/or Autism and their carers. A can-do attitude is a must, you will be passionateabout person centred work and supporting adults to maximise their independence and achieve person centred outcomes.

Openness to innovation is integral to this work, you will need to think outside the box and identify new ways of working and supporting others. You will be working collaboratively with Statutory and non-statutory organisations; excellent communication skillsare essential for this role.

**About You**

You'll bring a strong ability to build effective relationships with adults and their families in times of challenge and crisis. You will have the drive and passion to want to make a difference, and a willingness to learn. Ideally you will have some experienceof activity-based work with adults and some knowledge of legislative and policy guidance applicable within social care settings.

This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
