**About the role**:
The Investment Operations Specialist is an exciting new position that will work from our UK office alongside our Sydney based Trading Operation Manager and report to the Chief Operating Officer. As a solutions focused role, you will play a connecting role between various departments within Ardea IM to ensure all things associated with the trading cycle (upstream and downstream) are smooth and free of barriers from a data flow system perspective.

As part of the Investments Operations Team, you will work on a variety of interesting day-to-day activities that will support multiple groups within Ardea IM as well as external stakeholders making each day unique. This role will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and proactively seek to improve efficiencies while working with senior stakeholder across Ardea IM.

**Responsibility highlights**
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders and working closely with the trading and performance teams to ensure they have effective system support daily
- Provide operational support to the dealing team as needed and help build systems and processes to prevent issues from re-occurring,
- Investigate performance issues and provide updates to the Trading Operations Manager as well as escalating issues when needed.
- Take ownership on queries and issues and provide timely updates to internal and external customers
- Compliance management, managing associated risks within processes and procedures and contributing to incident reports when needed
- Management of Ardea’s outsourced middle and back office to ensure smooth operational flows and settlements.
- Responsible for post implementation testing, correction of trade imports, queries on return files from trading systems and interrogate the system when trades do not flow through correctly

**Your Story**
- The new Investment Operation Specialist will have an established track-record working within a trading environment with fund or asset management experience with system exposure that would have given you complete understanding of how the investment life cycle works.
- Excellent communication skills to manage meetings, provide written correspondence on technical issues and provide updates to various senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable to work independently and proactively to address complex issues when they present themselves and highlight topics to senior decision makers.
- Enjoy working in a strong team environment as Ardea IM is team centric and has a shared set of values that celebrates succeeding together and supporting each other.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, maths or similar disciplines highly preferred
- Previous experience in fixed income and related derivatives essential.
- Systems experience in MATLAB, Simcorp Dimensions and Bloomberg desirable
- You will need to have working rights within the UK
