Our Medium Secure Division is offering the exciting opportunity to work within our new clinical mental health pathway, developed to support and rehabilitate males of a working age.
This role will be based on our new ward that will form part of an established and successful medium secure male service. This is a male medium secure ward that will provide care and treatment for working age males with mental illnesses. This is a new ward.You will work closely with the other male wards and clinical teams to ensure the pathways between the wards/services are maximised and meet patients’ needs as they progress through treatment and recovery.
We have a number of great opportunities for Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses with a good understanding of forensic services. However experience in this area is not essential as all staff will be supported through local induction and provided withmentorship as an employee within the Medium Secure Division.
You will be part of our wider nursing and clinical teams focusing on our patients treatment and recovery. We do this by providing safe, effective, patient-centred care in line with national standards set by the Quality Network for Forensic Mental HealthServices, essential standards from the CQC, and best practice guidance relevant to secure care from the National Institute of Health and Social Care Excellence (NICE).
Our overall purpose is to ‘relieve suffering, give hope and promote recovery’. Our aim is to help patients recover so they can be treated in lower levels of security and eventually the community.

**About you
As a HCA, you'll be under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a nurse, and work with doctors, psychologists and a range of other healthcare professionals.The main contact you'll have, though, is with the people in our care.
To be a Healthcare Assistant in mental health care, you'll need to be:

You'll also need:
- Communication and listening skills
- Organisational skills
- Observational skills
The role can be quite active and we would therefore require you to be able to cope with the demands of an active post.
