**Summary**:
The Cabinet Office is undergoing a significant digital & technology transformation. Over the next three years we aspire to make UK Government digital services the best in the world, meeting or exceeding the benchmark set globally by the best public or private sector standards. For us to meet this ambition we are aiming to further improve the conditions, processes and expertise we have in place to be set up for success. This means we need to go much further and faster and strengthen the delivery of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) in government.

To support these ambitions we have established the Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) directorate for the Cabinet Office to build on existing strengths. The Cabinet Office CDIO directorate is based on six principles to:

- Build trust by stabilising services and getting the basics right.
- Be the gateway for all non-GDS digital, data and technology services delivered by Cabinet Office.
- Provide impeccable service to our users
- Drive digital, data and technology thought leadership
- Transform ways of working
- Build sustainable capabilities

The Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO) Portfolio Management Office (PMO) has a crucial role to play in supporting the modernisation of the Cabinet Office.

**Job description**:
The role is within the Cabinet Office CDIO directorate which provides, maintains and supports the IT services (hosted and public cloud IT infrastructure, telephony, network security, internet connectivity, local area networks, WiFi, end-user devices, cloud capability and full software portfolio) relied upon by the entire Cabinet Office. Our user base of over ten thousand includes the Cabinet Office, Crown Commercial Services, Government Property Agency and a number of Ministers.

The CDIO is conducting a broad technology transformation programme valued at over £50 million to build a new secure, modern and flexible OFFICIAL IT platform for over 10,000 personnel and, within that, a data migration project

As a Project Support Officer for the programme, you will work closely with and support the Programme Director, Programme Delivery Manager and a range of other stakeholder roles including a complex supply chain, commercial and financial colleagues in other Cabinet Office functions. You will report to the CDIO Head of PMO.

The role of the Project Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project’s objectives. The Project Support Officer enables the smooth running of the project by supporting the Programme Director and Programme Delivery Manager through the operation of project management processes, and the coordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.

**Responsibilities**:
Planning and scheduling - Ensure systems are in place to enable effective planning and scheduling. Partner with Programme Director, Programme Delivery Manager and with stakeholders to enable the delivery of an integrated programme plan, focusing on mission alignment, business planning, communication strategy and the dependency review.

Monitoring and reporting - Manage project controls for the project in line with CDIO PMO processes and procedures, reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager about the project status. Focusing on functional reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews basis and providing insights and information, as required.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement - Manage and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Work with stakeholders on commissions, contract management, and financial accountability ensuring Service Level Agreements are implemented and met consistently.

Support the CDIO Business Management Team and Finance function with the express intent of ensuring programme budgets are accurately forecasted, adhering to budgetary restraints and recording actual costs against them.

Provide support and guidance on business cases, ensuring appropriate governance is in place across the programme, including internal and external reviews.

Risks & Issues - Partner with Risk Management leads in CDIO to ensure robust processes and standards for managing risks and issues.

Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage compliance of the project with Departmental Security, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Business Continuity and Business Planning.
