**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with UK regulations (such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974) and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations, environmental laws, and telecom industry standards, including The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments in accordance with UK guidelines, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote a safe working environment by engaging with staff and contractors to foster HSE awareness, complying with the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring compliance with the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents as required by the UK’s HSE regulatory body.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures, in compliance with UK standards such as the Fire Safety Order.
- Ensure safe practices at telecom towers, antenna installations, and field operations in line with UK telecom safety standards.
- Monitor exposure to RF radiation, electrical hazards, working at heights, and other risks, adhering to UK laws and industry best practices.
- Oversee contractors working at height and ensure compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
- Conduct regular HSE training sessions for employees, including induction programs for new staff and contractors, following UK-approved training standards.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and workshops focused on telecom-specific hazards and risk management, compliant with UK legislation.
- Keep staff updated on new UK HSE regulations, standards, and technologies.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of sites, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with UK HSE standards.
- Compile audit reports and present findings to management, recommending corrective actions where necessary, in line with UK legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incident reports, and training sessions in compliance with UK data protection laws.
- Implement environmental management programs aimed at reducing the company's carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste in line with the UK’s environmental laws.
- Ensure compliance with UK environmental regulations such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the UK Waste Management Regulations.
- Promote initiatives that reduce environmental impact, such as recycling and energy efficiency programs, adhering to UK sustainability goals.
- Work closely with project teams, contractors, and external regulatory bodies to ensure HSE standards are integrated into all phases of telecom projects, adhering to UK laws.
- Liaise with UK government agencies and regulatory bodies (such as the UK Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency) to stay current with changes in HSE laws and regulations.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or UK-specific certifications in health and safety required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the telecom or construction industry.
- Knowledge of UK HSE regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, RIDDOR, and the Environmental Protection Act.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and promote a culture of safety.
- Proficiency in report writing, risk assessments, and incident investigation, compliant with UK regulations.
