A position has become available in a school in the Lowestoft area to become part of a team of TA’s within a school for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This opportunity will allow you access to all forms of specialist teaching that will provide the best education for these young people, and will make you part of a team of other enthusiastic TA’s, led by the class teacher, who all want to make a positive difference to the lives and education of these students.

The school is equipped with all kinds of facilities to encourage the learning of students with SEND and provides all kidneys of therapeutic, and educational benefits to the pupils

The Role:
Your role within this environment will include
- Assisting with the teaching of the students led by the class teacher
- Engage the students in one to one teaching when given the opportunity in order to make personalized education accessible to all students
- Assist in lunch and snack times
- Engage the students in outside play activities
- Assist in the creative education and ensure that the classroom tidiness is maintained throughout this
- Ensure that the students are safe at all times, and that each students education is suited to their care plan
- Engage in alternative forms of communication such as BSL and Makaton in order to communicate with non verbal or non hearing students

The Ideal Applicant:
The ideal applicant for this role would be capable of:

- Maintaining an understanding of the students needs at all times
- Always taking safeguarding into consideration
- Be capable of engaging and making a connection with the students
- Able to engage in positive and friendly interactions with staff, parents and pupils
- Ensuring the students feel inspired to engage in their learning at all times
- Be capable of remaining calm and positive in all circumstances
