**Salary**: Starts from £28,000 (dependent on experience)
**Contract**: Full time, 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
**Hours**: 37 ½ hours, 08:30 to 16:40, Monday to Friday
**Location**: Hull, option to work 1 day per week from home

**AAK Hull**

AAK Hull is located in the heart of an area enjoying significant redevelopment and investment.
The Port of Hull is being established as a world-class centre for renewable energy and manufacturing, and at AAK we feel proud to be part of this important industrial renaissance for Yorkshire and the UK.

At our recently upgraded site at King George Dock we operate the UK's largest refinery for edible oils and fats. We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespoke products.

**About the role**

We are looking to employ a HR Advisor on a 9 month fixed term contract (maternity cover) to support the delivery of our end-to-end people agenda at the AAK Hull site. Reporting to the UK HR Manager, you will have a passion for understanding and 'getting under the skin' of a manufacturing business, whilst demonstrating excellent critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.

You will offer generalist HR expertise and support for the full scope of the HR function, drawing on your colleagues across the AAK group when necessary.

**Main responsibilities**
- Proactively manage sickness absence through effective case management and contribute to strategies to reduce sickness absence.
- Co-ordinate recruitment from vacancy approval to issuing of employment contracts.
- Support managers with ER issues and in the delivery of the performance management cycle.
- Assist in the annual performance review process.
- Assist in effective implementation of organizational guidelines and procedures.
- Provide employment law advice and effective employee relation support.
- Provide basic HR analytics and management information as required.
- Support local HR related projects and participate in cross functional activities.

**About you**
- Experience of working in a similar role within a larger HR team.
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) desirable.
- Associated member of the CIPD and working towards Chartership.
- Up to date knowledge of employment law.
- Experience of developing good employee relations.
- Strong Excel skills including advanced formula creation and use.
