Technical Sales Consultant

We are looking for a Technical Sales Consultant to join our team. Working Monday to Friday, you will be based at our facility in Stone, Staffordshire UK. **Role Purpose**
The purpose of this role is to grow the business by developing and maintaining business with clients in who require material science expertise to support their product development, product quality or production support needs.
The incumbent will liaise extensively with internal technical team members both in the UK and the US to scope high impact, high value solutions to match or exceed client requirements, requiring a collaborative, team player approach. This has to be combined with a desire to work in a results-oriented environment and a capability to develop and deploy exceptional sales and account management skills.
Essential attributes include a general technical understanding of the company’s service offerings, strong organisational skills, exceptional communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
**Accountabilities**
- To achieve & exceed team and personal Order Intake targets set by the business through targeted growth of existing accounts and development of new accounts.
- To contribute towards achieving & exceeding revenue and margin targets set by the business.
- Working with clients to clarify and define requirements to develop written quotations and proposals in alignment with their needs.
- Collaborating with our technical team in the UK and US to leverage a portfolio of technology offerings, materials science consultancy services and analytical based solutions offered by the Lucideon Group.
- Making initial contact with newly identified leads generated by marketing activities such as webinars and white paper downloads from the website.
- Develop new business and relationships with target clients for either independently led accounts and/or ‘hand over’ clients to be then led by external sales team.
- Use a combination of technical consulting and transformational selling processes to build client relationships, and to gain insights on needs and opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining key customer accounts.
- Prepare formal quotations and PMF calculations as necessary, including project scoping tools and meetings
- To comply with the Company’s performance standards for items such as CRM reporting, quotation production, monthly reporting and delegated authority.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering or a related technical discipline.
**Experience**
- It would be desirable to have some relevant experience in a related technical industry, with use of services equivalent to Lucideon’s proposition.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or technical environment would be desirable but is not essential.
**Knowledge/Skills**
- Personable, good at listening, motivated by success, inquisitive and quick thinking - allowing them to adopt a transformational selling process and build relationships with customers.
- Sound commercial sense with an appreciation of costs, pricing and margins.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to work in a “one team” manner to resolve any challenges that arise internally or externally.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- The role will be based at the Lucideon facility in Stone (UK) and may require periodic travel to client sites or other locations as deemed required by the Company.
