**Job Summary**

**Duties**
- Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various meals.
- Support meal preparation by following recipes and instructions provided by the head chef or cook.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations.
- Help with the cleaning and sanitising of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a tidy workspace.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of meals during busy periods.
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring that all food items are prepared according to specifications.

**Skills**
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced cooks and chefs.
- Basic cooking skills are an advantage, along with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
