UX Designer

From a humble beginning 3 years ago with a single UX Designer, our department has grown in leaps and bounds and so has the profile of the work we do. We now count our CEO as one of our biggest fans and cheerleaders, and just like us, he is obsessed with creating class leading experiences.

We’ve done some great work but there is still lots to do so we are looking for talented and ambitious UX Designers to join us. You’ll help transform the way users interact with us on platforms that span web, native mobile, and progressive web apps as well the tools and services our couriers and workers use every day on the job.

**Your Responsibilities**

Your purpose is to be the voice of a user and ensure that their needs and behaviours take centre stage in the way we build products. You’ll join a multidisciplinary product development team where you will be responsible for conducting user, market and competitor research.

You will also play an important role in shaping the direction of product development by working closely with product managers to create product roadmaps and help them prioritise backlog items to ensure we unlock value for both the user and the business.

Whilst aligned to a product team, you will also be embedded in a UX team which means there will be plenty of opportunity to collaborate on different projects, learn from other designers and experts in UX optimisation and Design Ops teams_. _

Your day to day life will include carrying out some or all of the below:
**UX Leadership**:

- Build visibility of the value of UX practices within core product teams
- Act as an ambassador for UX within your and build the profile of UX within product teams
- Demonstrate the value of User Centric, Data Driven UX practices within your product team

**UX Research**:

- Understand the suite of research options available to the product team and when to use them
- Conduct upfront user / customer / competitor research to understand user needs and insights, industry best practices and potential opportunities to help guide future design direction
- Advise the Product Manager on the level and depth of user research and user testing required to inform the product roadmap, or evaluate stories that have been delivered
- Work with the UX optimisation team to ensure analytics are set up to provide user behaviour data and product performance benchmarks to guide design

**UX Design**:

- Promote empathy for customers/users within product teams.
- Help team to truly understand the underlying behaviours and needs of our users and work with other UX designers to align behavioural theories and and how they are applied in design
- Define the customer / user journey and their needs to inform both the product roadmap and UX design
- Supports story refinement and acceptance criteria definition
- Create sketches, sitemaps, wireframes, lightweight prototypes and visual designs to experiment and iterate the design of the product
- Ensure consistency of design and UX across the product by adhering to the design principles set out in the Evri Design system
- Ensure features are implemented by engineering as designed and adheres to best practice accessibility guidelines

**Measuring success**
- Validate designs/protypes for new features and flows with users ensure its meets user and business needs before development starts.
- Work with the optimisation team to report test results highlighting success areas, failures, and key lessons

**Your Experience**

Does this sound like you?
- 2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in an enterprise level organisation or agency
- Experience working on web, native apps or dynamic web apps
- Experience working with wireframing and prototyping software such as Figma, Sketch, Invision or Adobe XD
- Comfortable conducting a full range of UX work including user journey mapping, persona creation, sketching, and low to high fidelity wireframing and prototyping
- Good working knowledge of UX frameworks or product centric design
- Working with, or creating design systems and design pattern libraries
- An a good understanding of user centred design principles
- A good understanding of qualitative user research techniques
- A good understanding of analytics and quantitative testing and analysis
- A basic understanding of front-end development, CSS Frameworks
