Summary As a Senior Events & Partnerships Officer, you’ll play a significant role in shaping and delivering a year-round public engagement programme of visitor experiences and participation opportunities including identifying new community, cultural and commercialpartnerships.
Whether you’re planning, delivering or evaluating the visitor offer, you’ll always be thinking about showcasing our properties, to widen our audience and deliver our financial and business growth objectives of the portfolio property business plans.
This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.
What it's like to work here Reporting to our Experiences & Programming Manager, you’ll be working as part of the Experience and Partnerships team across the Essex and Suffolk Countryside portfolio to support inclusive and engaging experiences. Our places includeFlatford and the Dedham Vale, Bourne Mill, Lavenham Guildhall, Melford Hall, Coggeshall Grange Barn, to name a few.
Whilst you’ll be out and about visiting the different places, you may also need to work from home on occasions. There’ll be some evening and weekend working, so flexibility will be key. It’s a great place to work if you love variety and meeting lots of people.After all, you’ve got everything to play with - ancient woodland, heathland, pastoral landscapes which inspired the famous landscape painter John Constable, Tudor buildings, mills and the remains of a Motte and Bailey Castle
What you'll be doing You’ll be working with the various property teams and their volunteers to design and deliver seasonal programming activities for the everyday visit, but also developing new and exciting event highlights - creating a buzz and encouragingrepeat visits.
You’ll make sure that programmes and events are shaped by our audiences’ needs and interests, you’ll evaluate and feed learning into future plans to enable continuous improvement and innovation.
You’ll work in a collaborative, flexible way - being able to adapt your plans and style to the needs of partners, team members, and audiences. You’ll be great at balancing a busy workload with priorities around the portfolio and keep our stakeholders, bothinternal and external, informed and engaged.
Who we're looking for You'll need to have the following skills and experience:
- Producing high-quality, creative projects and innovative, accessible visitor programming.
- Able to understand and utilise data and insight to improve and develop our offer
- Building, maintaining and developing partnership relationships to offer engagement opportunities to visitors, volunteers or community participants
- Strong people skills, enabling good working relationships with those in your team and across the property.
- Working with external agencies, funding bodies, contractors and organisations
- Delivering high standards of personal customer service and leading by example to motivate others. Able to respond to varying pressures, difficult situations and complaints
- Forecasting and analysis - Record of setting and delivering performances targets, comparing income generated versus spend.
