If so, then we have an excellent opportunity for you to lead our Newhaven Assessment and Treatment team at Hill Rise.

Hill Rise ATS provides a lively and creative multi-disciplinary service for adults with severe mental illness. Newhaven is a harbour town sitting in the beautiful landscape of the South Downs National Park and only a few miles from the vibrant city of Brighton. Over the next five years, our community mental health services are undergoing an exciting transformation and our area is one of the first pilot sites in Sussex.

We are reaching out to Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. You need to be enthusiastic, talented and clinically experienced and be able to function well independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. The role is all about supporting the team to maintain high standards of care and treatment to our service users who all have complex and enduring mental health needs.

You must have a warm and friendly disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be confident, motivated and flexible and be able to show initiative in an environment which is often busy, rewarding and dynamic.

You will be able to build trusting relationships with local partners and instrumental in improving our service reputation and public confidence.

As team leader, you will be supporting and supervising the team, managing any day-to-day issues, ensuring the team works within the budget and successfully achieves its required quality targets.

You will be required to carry out some clinical work and be able to work effectively with other professionals to manage complex and demanding situations including Safeguarding, serious incidents and complaints.

To be responsible and provide effective leadership for a clinical team specifically to deliver on the following key areas:
1. Management of referrals including delivery of care
2. Performance monitoring and management
3. Line Management and supervision of staff.
4. To deliver a service within the agreed financial envelope ensuring maximum value in terms of clinical and cost effectiveness.
5. Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team
6. To take a lead on management of complex cases and supporting staff in management of such cases.
8. To ensure that the team functions are in line with the care group core business.
9. To coordinate recruitment and selection of staff within the team, leading on decisions as designated by the service manager.
10. To respond to serious incidents as appropriate and support any subsequent investigation
11. To respond to Safeguarding concerns as appropriate
12. To respond to complaints
13. To respond to communications regarding team issues
