Assembly Line Worker / Production Operative

We are one of leading manufacturers of vehicle antennas to the blue light (police, ambulance and fire) and through organisational growth we are looking to appoint a Production Operative to join our team. Reporting in to the Production Manager, you will be based in their Head Office on the Wirral, the main purpose of your role will see you carrying out wiring and electrical fitting of complex assemblies from drawings and descriptions of work involved. Ensure that all assemblies are completed on time and in-line with delivery schedules whilst ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained
**The main purpose of the role is to**:
- Ensure that the wiring of assemblies are built to the correct quality standard to meet production and after sales deadlines.
- Have a good understanding of electrical drawings
- Ensure any design or build issues are reported
- Ensure soldering and electrical looming is carried out to a high standard
- Maintain a good knowledge in the use of crimp tools, crimps, receptacle, sleeving and heat shrink materials.
- Modify (i.e. mark out and drill/deburr) parts within the scope of the electrical build
- Help and support others with training when possible by passing on knowledge and skills
- Ensure that their working area is a safe and clean environment and in compliance with the 5S best practice and health & safety policies
- Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role
- Maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role
- Act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times
- Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business and delivery objectives or deadlines
- Proven ability in a relevant electrical wiring role
- A will do attitude
- ONC or Higher in a relevant Electrical/Electronic discipline / Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent
- The ability to read & understand electrical drawings
- Good communication skills
