An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced administrator to join the endoscopy booking team as an endoscopy booking clerk at Colchester Hospital, part time 25 hours per week.

In this role you will be contacting patients via the phone, directly to book patients for their endoscopy procedures to assist diagnosis via our 18 week, urgent and 2 week wait pathways.

You will have be responsible for booking patients in line with the Trust 'Patient Access Policy' and ensuring that all patients are allocated to an appropriate endoscopy list and procedures are carried out as soon as possible.

If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge then we are keen to hear from you.
- You will ensure that patients are admitted in accordance with their clinical priority
- You will ensure that patients are admitted strictly in wait time order
- Ensure that patients are booked on to appropriate lists and that the lists are filled to an agreed profile.
- Ensure all patients cancelled on the day of procedure are re-booked in accordance with Trust ‘Patient

Access Policy’.
- Work closely with the Administration manager, Endoscopy Waiting List Co-ordinator, Consultants,

Registrars, Secretaries and other team members.
- To update TCI lists, re-arranging cancelled lists and individual bookings, which have been cancelled by

either the patient or the hospital, and ensure that the cancelled slots are re-allocated. To notify nursing
colleagues of any special needs patients prior to admission or any patient requiring special
equipment/support at least one week prior to the patient’s admission date.
