We currently have a vacancy on Peldon Ward for our Ward Clerk/Receptionist at Colchester Hospital. We are looking to recruit professional, enthusiastic and reliable people to work as part of a team providing an efficient and effective reception/ward clerk service to patients and visitors.

You must be able to remain calm in a busy environment whilst being able to deal with distressed people. You should have excellent communication as you will frequently be the first point of contact and may be dealing with people who are in a distressed state.

You will work a rota covering a 24/7 service and will be required to work nights and weekends as well as days.

Provide a receptionist and data input role

Receiving new patients and accompanying relatives/friends and answering initial questions pending Ward Sister/Nurse-in-Charge being available.

Maintaining Ward Clerk diary and admissions book.
