Flutter Developer

As part of our Digital Development team, you’ll be responsible for introducing Flutter into our workflows with a view to eventually having components in our native cycling-focused mobile apps.

Working alongside the wider development and design teams, you will be creating features and screens that are easy to use, beautiful to look at and keep our audience engaged.

You will advocate for Flutter, helping us to form a strategy of adoption in both externally-facing apps and internally-focused tooling.
The Role:

- Focusing on how people use mobile apps, and writing code to reflect this
- Working collaboratively with the Digital Team and Discovery Group to develop an app that key stakeholders are proud of
- Working individually to write the code - you’ll need to be a hands on developer
- Creating innovative development solutions
- Promoting quality of code and ensuring that knowledge is shared and code is reviewed
- Unit testing and automated tests
- Version control - this is key when working at Play Sports Network
- Working within an agile framework (SCRUM and Kanban)
- Understanding of how code impacts the project longer term outside of a sprint
- Assisting product owners in understanding the impact tasks and stories have on users
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

- Experience of Dart and Flutter in commercial or opensource environments (1+ years)..
- Previous experience of Android and/or iOS development.
- Working with other developers across disciplines to solve problems.
- Understanding of SOLID principles.
- Understanding a range of state management solutions (Bloc, Provider, MobX) and their trade-offs.
- Working with RESTful API's
- Writing Unit, Widget, and Integration tests.
- Version control systems and their working methodologies (we use GitHub).
