Mazars' Accounting Technical Services (ATS) team is experiencing exciting growth and as such we are seeking to recruit talented and high performing individuals to be part of these expanding opportunities.

The ATS team provides accounting and corporate reporting technical support and advice, both internally to our Mazars' audit teams and externally to our clients. We provide accounting and corporate reporting support throughout all strategic markets and sectors,across a number of accounting frameworks, although principally IFRS and UK GAAP (including FRS 101 and FRS 102), and we provide this support on a national basis within Mazars.

The role will activity shape technical accounting and corporate reporting quality within Mazars', particularly within the growing insurance service offering. The role offers continuous developing and learning in technical accounting and corporate reportingas the requirements of accounting standards ever evolve and the demand for quality and enhanced corporate reporting continues to expand.

**Job Purpose**

As an ATS Senior Manager/Manager specialising in insurance, you will primarily be responsible for managing and delivering technical accounting and corporate reporting assignments on all insurance-related matters, therefore specialising in insurance contractaccounting under IFRS 17 _Insurance Contracts_ and/or FRS 103 _Insurance Contracts_.

The role is based in our London office, however there are flexible opportunities in relation to hybrid working and working from other Mazars offices in the UK.

**Role & Responsibilities**

As a member of the Accounting Technical Services team specialising in insurance, you will be part of a team that collaborates well to successfully support our audit teams and clients within the UK. Your role and responsibilities will include:

- Addressing accounting and corporate reporting technical queries across a full breadth of accounting matters;
- Reviewing financial statements for quality and compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including FRS 101 and FRS 102;
- Providing tailored accounting technical support to key insurance clients, including understanding the accounting issue, researching the applicable requirements and providing tailored support to clients;
- Assisting with audit proposals;
- Assisting with the preparation of internal and external technical publications and guidance for audit teams; and
- Being involved in Mazars Audit Quality monitoring process from an accounting and corporate reporting perspective.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**

We are looking to recruit talented and high performing individuals who have a passion for technical accounting and corporate reporting, are proactive and like to work in a fast-moving and interesting environment.

Your skills and experience will be as follows:

- Sound technical understanding from completing your ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) accounting qualification and have robust technical accounting knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP (FRS 101 and FRS 102) and UK Company Law.
- Technical knowledge focus on IFRS 9 _Financial Instruments._
- Experience with evaluating technical issues, analysing facts, consulting and delivering solutions to audit teams and/or clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially writing formal reasoned technical responses.
- Experience of writing technical publications and technical guidance will be beneficial.
- Ability to prioritise and organise work, with strong attention to detail.
- Work well with others in the team, maintaining high standards of quality and demonstrating commitment to self-development.
- Experience of working at a manager level or above in a professional services firm within a similar accounting technical role.
