Ward Nurse

Evolve are recruiting for an experienced Ward Nurse to join the UK’s top rated eye hospital in providing outstanding eye health care for their patients. This is a patient-focused company who are recognised for consistently delivering excellent results andoffering treatment options for the full range of vision correction solutions. As part of this role, you will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic services, including surgery.

**Ideal Requirements**
- You will be a Registered General Nurse
- You will have a current NMC registered pin
- Minimum one year post qualification in Ophthalmology, Theatre, General surgery, or Outpatients.
- Awareness of responsibilities in relation to NMC Professional Code of Conduct
- Excellent IT skills

**Role Responsibilities**
- Use clinical judgement and analytical skills to pro-actively identify potential problems during the patients’ clinical pathway that require Consultant / Surgeon input.
- Work with Consultants supporting them and delivering excellent care to patients during their clinical pathway.
- Provide pre
- and post-operative instructions to patients/carers through effective communication as part of the clinical competency framework and holistic care of patients.
- Maintain an awareness of the need to deliver care in a manner which demonstrates dignity and respect, this always includes the provision of an appropriate level of privacy.
- Help to control and minimise the risk of cross infection by following the organisations’ Uniform Policy, and all procedures, policies and guidelines for the maintenance of a clean working environment, including decontamination and sterilisation of equipment.
- Ensure that all clinical documentation is completed legibly and comprehensively to agreed organisational and NMC standards and guidelines.
