Public Relations Communications Officer

We are looking for a PR and communications whizz to join our team who will take the lead and help us put our clients’ brilliant work in the spotlight.
You are full of energy and have a dynamic approach to communications. We need you to _make things happen _and _get things done_. A people person who enjoys meeting new people, you are enthusiastic about the built environment and have a genuinely inquisitive nature with intelligent thought.
You’ll work alongside the Luma team to identify and leverage PR opportunities for our clients.
We work remotely, flexibly and collaboratively in line with our smart working culture: whether working from home or from our Northern Quarter office, you’ll be a key part of our team.
**Your outputs**:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- News: helping our clients identify stories, get them written and signed off, and then issued at the right time.
- Editorial: identifying and crafting relevant thought leadership pieces and comment / opinion in response to the news agenda.
- Awards: knowing which ones to enter and when, writing entry copy and submitting award entries that celebrate the brilliant work that our clients do.
- Speaking opportunities: from podcasts to conferences and round tables, we want our clients’ voices to be heard.
- Social media: supporting Rachel and ensuring we communicate our clients’ news appropriately across all social media channels.
**Your skills**:
- Writing skills are essential: style, grammar and attention to detail.
- You will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar marketing role within property, construction and professional services.
- You can spot a newsworthy hook and provide proactive comms in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Producing and delivering communication strategies and campaigns: this is all down to you.
- Promote Luma Marketing and their clients’ reputation externally via local, national and trade media channels, print, digital and broadcast.
- You can build and maintain great relationships with our clients so that you can pick up the phone to move something along quickly and advise / persuade them on potential media opportunities.
- Forging connections with relevant trade and regional journalists - these relationships are key.
- Produce monthly reports on media activity and coverage obtained. Follow up, measurement and monitoring are key.
