We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled, innovative and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, to work across the Crisis Home Treatment Teams based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Kier Hardy Health Park. Psychology has been established in these teams for a number of years, and you will work closely with colleagues to delivery psychologically informed care to people presenting in acute distress.
You will be joining vibrant and experienced MDTs including mental health nurses, support workers, occupational therapists, and psychiatrists. Psychology is valued greatly across the teams and across the wider CTMUHB acute mental health care pathway and the post holder will work closely with the established team of psychologists and therapists in acute care
You will provide psychological assessments and brief psychological interventions for people with a wide range of complex psychological difficulties presenting in acute distress. An important part of the role will be consultative and include the provision of reflective practice groups, staff support and consultation.
CPD and training are encouraged, with recent support going towards EMDR and complex trauma. Exploring options to widen access to psychological therapies via transdiagnostic modalities such as ACT is also supported in the context of acute and crisis mental health care.
