Sheffield, United Kingdom Out of the Box Services Ltd Full time

Out of the Box Services, also known as Friends Together.

Here, at Friends Together, we believe that everyone should be able to live a fulfilling and inclusive life. We work with young and mature vulnerable adults to enable them to live as independently as possible.

We strongly believe in a person-centred approach in everything we do.

We enable our clients to access the community in order to live the lives that they choose.

We believe that our customers deserve the best service for their money and we aim to provide a service that meets the highest of standards.

We are currently looking for confident and enthusiastic Personal Assistants to work with a range of clients with learning and physical disabilities across different age groups.

You will be matched to clients with whom you will build a professional relationship based on mutual trust and understanding, you will use this relationship to provide a high continuity of support, promoting independence and a person-centred approach at all times.

You will help them explore their interests and plan their days / weeks with them. This can be anything from swimming, bowling, music gigs, food shopping, going for a pub lunch or even watching a film at home with them.

This role can be either full or part time and will require evening and weekend work. The hours you choose, if available, can be perfect for students or people looking to return to work gradually.

Ideally, you will be confident working independently whilst liaising with a multidisciplinary team. You will need the strength of character to deal with challenging behaviour while maintaining firm, professional boundaries.

Experience supporting individuals from a wide range of extra needs including mental health, learning disabilities and physical impairments would be an advantage but is not essential to joining the team, as you will receive all of the necessary training and support to succeed within this role.

A full, clean, UK driving license and access to a car for work is preferred but not essential.

You will need evidence of the right to work in the UK, and will need to be willing to complete a DBS check.

You will be paid for your travel time between clients, at full pay. You will also have the benefits of 45p per mile used, during your working hours. Expenses for any activities with clients will be paid by the clients themselves. Holidays are accrued based on the hours you work, meaning the more hours you work, the more holidays you will accrue. You also have the benefit of managing your own diary, meaning you can liaise with your clients to arrange your own visits and change them if necessary.

This is a very rewarding role and our PA’s pride themselves in the progress that their clients make whilst working alongside them.
