Powder Coater Team Leader Day Shift

**Up to Circa £31,000 PA (£15.50 PH) **Depending on experience **+ Overtime + Benefits** **COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE** Our Client is well established and growing engineering/manufacturing business and a UK leader in their field. This day shift role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Powder Coater Team Leader or a powder coater (with appropriate experience) looking to progress their career within a progressive, friendly, professional and challenging environment. You will be responsible for maximising capacity of the powder & wet coating plant through the effective planning and supervision of plant operators, plant & equipment, and for the on-time delivery of all painted components/products to the production plan, conducting quality checks using a range of measurement equipment and producing documentation to the required standard. This is a “hands on” role and you are expected to work alongside your team, covering all roles and providing holiday cover as and when needed. **KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - Plan and organise daily work lists to achieve the most efficient processes. - Manage a small team to ensure jobs are painted to the correct specification and ensure due dates are met. - Plan and communicate overtime working to achieve deadlines as and when necessary. - Carry out and record quality checks and implement corrective action when necessary. - Learn/develop understanding of and implement 5S and Lean techniques to improve your skills and develop your team and your department to achieve an efficient and clean and tidy department at all times. - Assist in the recruitment and training of new team members - Work in a "hands on" capacity alongside your team providing support and training in best jigging, preparation and painting techniques. - Provide holiday cover for powder coaters and operators as required. - Conduct preventative maintenance tasks where training and knowledge allow, in line with company schedules and complete maintenance reports. - Oversee the quality and inspection (including the production of quality records) of coated parts (to the required level) and implement corrective action immediately to minimise disruption to the customer. - To conduct daily checks on inspection equipment to ensure it complies with the required standards. **NB**: This is a physically active role and involves lifting, handling and bending through a full range of motions, applicants must be able to demonstrate their health and fitness to achieve this. **QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES** - An experienced / skilled Powder Coater - Preferably experience gained in a powder coating team leader or similar role, or with previous experience of team leading. - Able to demonstrate the core attributes necessary (training will be provided). - Able to set and adjust electrostatic spray equipment to gain the best results and minimise powder waste - Preferably experienced in working with small components and extruded lengths. - Familiar with the correct use and maintenance of PPE equipment such as masks, respirators etc. - Highly motivated and reliable team player who can demonstrate attention to detail **DETAILS OF PACKAGE** Day Shift: Up to £31,000 PA / £15.50 PH (Depending on experience) + Paid Overtime (Time + one Half) + Benefits Day Shift: Monday to Thursday: 0800am-1700pm and Friday 0800am-13.00 **NB**: This my change to Monday to Thursday 0700-16.00pm and Friday 0700am - 1200 / Overtime payable after 39 Hour week / Basic Salary From £26,000 to £31,000 PA (From £13.00 PH to £15.50 PH (Depending on experience) **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: Up to £31,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Company pension - On-site parking Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - ESSENTIAL: Are you an experienced Powder Coater? - ESSENTIAL: Do you have you own transport, live within commuting distance of Newton Aycliffe, and are you able to start work at 0800 or 0700? - ESSENTIAL: Do you have experience gained in a Team Leader, Supervisory or similar staff responsible role?
