Financial Research Survey
**_Are you looking to develop a career in within one of the world’s largest Research Organisations?_**
The Financial Research Survey is the largest and longest running Financial Services survey in Great Britain. It’s subscribed to by many of the UK’s major financial services providers and is seen as “industry currency” for financial research data.
Our work is also used by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) the industry regulator. By working closely with them we can see the impact of our data and how it can influence change.
**The role**:
In this role your clients will be financial services (FS) organisations, including retail banks and insurance companies and the team sits within the Market Strategy and Understanding (MSU) Service Line, housing our market measurement specialists.
This role will offer hybrid working from our London office two days per week and the rest can be from home.
**What will I be doing?**
This will be a varied and thought-provoking role including:
- Working across financial services product categories, where the expectation will be the collation of thought leadership reports looking in detail at the retail banking and insurance markets you are responsible for.
- Every 6 months we produce key thought leadership reports for each of our product categories. These reports are sent to our clients, highlighting key metrics on what we believe is driving the market, the areas they should focus on and the drivers for change.
- You will be responsible for producing these for the product categories that you will be looking after and may also be called upon to review work undertaken by peers or input into other retail banking reports where necessary.
- You’ll be responsible for leading on ad hoc requests. These will vary in size and resource need. Some may be small, and can be undertaken on Askia, our online analysis platform, others will be more in-depth pieces which require a deep dive and are essentially a standalone project.
- Looking after existing clients, answering their ad hoc queries and requests for additional bespoke reports.
- You will also be involved in reviewing and developing any ad hoc monthly requirements or needs for your clients.
- You will be involved in presenting regular market or ad hoc reports to your clients and undertake any follow up analysis. Whilst the FRS is a tracking study, no two days are the same and the overall workload can include a number of ad hoc requests, as clients maximise the content of their subscription.
- You’ll be hands on working on these, with support from junior members of the team and have Director support where needed.
- You will work closely with junior members of the team, coaching and advising them on best practice research and client handling skills, as well as reviewing their outputs for clients.
- You’ll be a trusted advisor and partner to clients, offering insight and help develop solutions to business challenges.
- You’ll contribute to uncovering and creating opportunities for new business with clients, as well as being responsible for putting Ipsos’ best foot forward.
- You will ensure that our core on-going research program continue to evolve and delights our clients, so that we can proactively retain these clients.
**What do I need to bring with me?**
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- A solid grounding of the research process and understanding of what is needed to ensure that the day-to-day outputs of the programme are delivered on schedule.
- Possess a passion and experience of working within the FS industry, ideally with knowledge of product categories within the retail banking space.
- Be confident or have experience of working in financial services or with FS clients.
- Have commercial acumen and be confident in having more strategic conversations with clients, as well as being comfortable with the underlying detail.
- Be adept at connecting the team with the client to ensure that they deliver to a high standard.
- Ensure ad hoc requests are delivered in a timely manner and maximises the opportunity and relationship.
- Proven skills in building strong relationships with clients.
- The ability to work with and inspire juniors, and personally commit to delivering high quality work.
