**Clinical Administrator, Scanner and Summariser**

We are a friendly, 3-site dispensing Practice in Buckinghamshire with surgeries in Wing, Whitchurch, and Winslow. The Practice has 7 GP Partners, together with salaried GPs and ANPs. They are supported by a full complement of Nurses, HCAs, a clinical pharmacist and provide care for 20,000 patients. We are a proactive and forward-thinking Practice dedicated to providing quality patient care. In total we are a team of more than 100 staff and we consider it important to maintain a supportive team ethos. We have a CQC rating of ‘good' across all metrics, thanks to outstanding administrative support.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Administration Team as a Clinical Administrator Scanner. We would welcome applicant with summarising or insurance reporting experience.

The Practice is moving towards becoming a paper-light environment. The aim of this role is to streamline the flow of clinical correspondence through the organisation, by reducing the number of letters that GPs need to process. This should ensure that GPs are able to give priority to the most appropriate correspondence.

Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.

The Administrator will carry out their duties by following the Workflow Protocols.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Follow Practice Protocols to ensure consistent and high quality care is provided to our patients
- Carry out administrative tasks relating to patient records, including filing, document management and ensuring patients can access reports, prescriptions and that they are easily accessible
- Scanning, incoming clinical correspondence
- Taking actions where appropriate, including forwarding it to another member of the team or passing to GP for action if clinically required.
- Ensure security of data at all times
- Understand the need for confidentiality at all times
- Take action as directed by the Team Lead including other delegated duties considered appropriate to this post

**SCANNING DUTIES**
- Scan patient-related documents onto their medical record using read codes and templates as agreed by the clinical team
- Add any additional information about the source of the document
- Forward the document to the Doctor or Nurse who initiated the referral or who is most appropriate to receive the information
- Ensure incoming letters are scanned onto the patient record within a 24/48-hour timescale

**WORKFLOW MAIN DUTIES**
- Identify the complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team, including Safeguarding issues, working to the agreed Practice protocols.
- To be flexible to support the wider work of the admin team as necessary

In-house & external training will be given.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**:

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work on own initiative and also as a proactive team member
- Good communications skills; both written and verbal
- Able to manage priorities and adhere to deadlines
- Methodical approach to workload
- Proficient in using IT skills
- Organised

**Desirable**:

- Employment experience in the NHS or medical sector
- Experience of using EMIS, Docman and AccuRX
