The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Skills to lead and contribute to course management, course delivery and course development in this area and to undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.

Working within a committed and enthusiastic team you will focus primarily on programmes in the School of Medicine including the MBBS, the BSc Medical Sciences, the Foundation Medical Sciences and the Physician Associates programmes. The overall purpose of the role is to make a significant contribution to the academic development, course management, teaching, research development and knowledge transfer activities within the School, particularly in relation to the teaching of clinical skills across the School’s provision.

You will hold a professional healthcare qualification and a recognised teaching qualification would be desirable. Teaching and assessment experience within a clinical educational environment is essential, including experience of teaching and assessing clinical skills. You will have experience of working within Professional Body requirements.

You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills; have an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently; and the ability to pursue your own research.

You will have a commitment to continued professional development and of the University’s strategy and values.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Burnley with some travel to the Universities’ other campuses.
