Internship in Applied Dementia Research

We are pleased to announce an available internship funded by the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC). You will be based at the Community and Primary Care Research Group (University of Plymouth) and have the opportunity to contribute to applied dementia research while gaining experience of working in a team and developing a range of research skills.

**About the role**

You will support a scoping review examining the impact of post-diagnostic dementia support on unplanned or unwanted high-level/high-cost care like hospitalisations. You will contribute to a range of tasks, e.g. participate in research meetings, create research materials, contribute to academic publications and conference submissions, assist with data analyses, support stakeholder engagement (exact tasks will depend on needs of the team at the time).

**Who we’re looking for**
- You will be interested in applied dementia research.
- You would like to experience working in a supportive environment, with opportunities to speak with and learn from other members within the Group.
- You have a good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. allied health professions, psychology, etc).
- You have at least a relevant masters-level degree or equivalent professional research or clinical experience. PhD students will be considered.
- You are a team player but able to work independently and to deadlines; can organise yourself and others; are motivated to learn; have some knowledge of qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods analyses.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week and is fixed-term for a period of 10 weeks due to funding. Applications for part-time hours (at least 2.5 days per week) are welcome. Expected start date preferrably April 2025 (negotiable).

For this role, you will need to be on site **at least** 1 day a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site **more than 1 day a week** will be expected depending on business needs.

There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
