The postholder will be a member of the Trust’s Facilities team and will mainly provide relief cover for the catering services at Birch Hill hospital, Rochdale. The postholder will be required to support other teams/roles in the Facilities team as needed in this relief role, which will include the portering and domestic services.
This is a multi-skilled role providing relief support within the team at Birch Hill hospital. The role will include weekend working to provide relief support as required

**Catering duties include**:
Defrosting, portioning, forming, and coating meat and fish and traying-up in containers; this is including setting-up equipment and wiping down surfaces.
- General preparation of pastry and desserts, including preparing equipment, weighing, mixing, rolling, operating machines, filling containers and adding fillings.
- Manual preparation of vegetables by washing, cleaning, peeling, selecting, dicing and placing in cooking vessel.

Tending of food on stoves, beating, mixing, blending, checking, testing, stirring and the loading and unloading of cooking vessels.
- Preparing and making salads and sandwiches.
- Service/serving of patient, staff and function food where required.
- Filling and distributing bulk food containers to patient trolleys and restaurant service counter, topping up using batch cooking methods.
- Temperature probing of meals and the recording of temperatures.
- Ensure that all food and beverage temperatures and quality control sheets are recorded and stored properly.
- To be familiar with the SOP for handling cash and cashing-up process in staff restaurant.
- Work in staff restaurant as and when required.
- Washing-up, tidying, wiping down and general kitchen porter cleaning tasks.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are completed.
- Ensure all COSHH and RAMS documentation is followed at all times in the workplace.

General portering and domestic task when supporting with relief cover.

The postholder will be joining the facilities team which sits in the Capital Investment and Estates Services department at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, delivering all soft FM services across the Trust. The team are passionate about ensuring we provide high-quality and effective facilities services to our staff and service users. The team demonstrate and live by the Trust values and behaviours each day, and we work together as one team.
