Macdonald Night Porter play a vital role in delivering a great guest experience to all our guests. Our Night Porter are hardworking individuals who can work on their own initiative and are key players in our Reception teams. This role is ideal for those in a role within a similar 4 or 5 star hotel environment. Ensuring the smooth running of the night audit procedures and reception back office, to ensure delivery of the highest standards of product and service, a passionate approach to exceeding our customers expectations and as a champion of our vision and values, promote a professional and positive image to all of our guests and contribute to the hotel’s targets. While this, providing our guests with a great stay every time.

This position will include shifts working Saturday and/ or Sunday. Additional hours may be required to support the hotel during our busier periods including bank holidays or to cover holidays.

Situated by the shores of Lake Windermere, our Old England Hotel & Spa is a lovely lake retreat in the middle of the Lake District.
- To carry out Reception duties arising out with the normal working hours of reception staff.
- Personal protective equipment to be worn/used in line with company guidelines.
- To post all income and guest charges not processed during the receptionists shift.
- To compile full supporting documentation relating to each days business to be passed to the Accounts Department.
- To check all balancing of daily business posting and monies received and processed by reception.
- To ensure conference and meeting rooms are consistently set to the company standard and that all essential work is completed by 7am.

- To carry out hotel night security at the agreed times.
- To ensure that only residents are on the premises once all functions have finished.
- Ensure the public areas of the hotel are clean and tidy at all times during the shift.
- Report any maintenance defects to Management immediately
