We’re the Pension Protection Fund. We protect millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. When these schemes fail, we’re ready to help.
We’re equivalent in size to a top 5 UK pension scheme and have developed a highly sophisticated, best-in-class investment strategy. Our culture combines private sector standards with a public service ethos.
We’re looking for a Managing Counsel to join our award-winning legal team, the main focus being the provision of legal advice to our in-house investment team.
They will be responsible for providing pragmatic, comprehensive, timely and cost-effective legal and strategic policy advice and solutions to senior management, managing internal client relationships, understanding the business stakeholders’ needs and riskappetite. They will be part of the management team responsible for running the PPF’s Legal Team.
Our ideal applicant will be a UK qualified lawyer (or overseas equivalent) with substantial post qualification investment fund advisory experience, such as working in-house or from within a well-regarded team in private practice. Excellent stakeholder managementskills are essential, with the ability to identify and challenge the legal needs of the business. This position will be managing a
small team of qualified lawyers so a willingness and aptitude for line management is essential, with previous supervisory or management experience being desirable.
Miriam Kimber (Director of Legal) - “This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a multi award-winning investment team - roles of this nature and seniority do not come along very often”
