Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of **Sexual Health Support Worker/Receptionist (Combined Role)**. This is a** permanent, full or part time role** with a salary of** £20,270.00 to £21,318.00** pro-rata depending on experience.
**Role Summary**
This is an exciting time for our sexual health services in Herefordshire and we are looking for a forward thinking, innovative and enthusiastic person to join our fantastic team. The Sexual Healthcare Support Worker/Receptionist incorporates a range of roles both supporting our clinical team with patient care and comprehensive day to day administrative, clerical and reception work within the Integrated Sexual Health Services Team.
To work within our sexual health services, you need to have an open-minded and non-judgemental attitude as well as a good sense of humour. You should be able to cope with a demanding and busy role which has periods of business and times when things are more settled. You will have initiative to work on your own and be self-motivated and resilient. Having an interest in supporting people to access care is essential and you should have a positive attitude to making sure that patients have the best care experience when they access our services.
Due to the nature of our services, you will express empathy and show patients that you are respectful of their individual lifestyles and life choices. Understanding the importance of confidentiality is key and appreciating that people access our services for a variety of reasons.
The post is based in our sexual health clinic in the centre of Hereford, but you may on occasions be asked to provide reception duties at our outreach services across the county.
The clinic opens Monday to Friday from 9am in the morning, with two late evenings, finishing at 7:30pm and one early finish at 1:30pm. You will work alongside our two other reception team in a rota to cover the working week, ensuring phone lines and reception are covered when the service is open.
**Main Duties of the role include**:
- Daily administration tasks and checks
- Booking patients in at reception, supporting them to complete paperwork and entering personal information onto the IT systems.
- Stocking the administrative supplies and the clinical room supplies
- Answering the patient phone lines and looking at availability for booking appointments
- Working in a team to work through follow up appointments to be booked and referrals from other professionals
- Completing letters on behalf of clinicians and providing administrative support including sending texts to patients, completing appointment cards and following up phone calls with patients who have missed appointments.
- Under direct supervision assists with the delivery of care as described by the Registered Nurse.
- Provide patients with self-taken screening for common STIs, urinalysis and pregnancy testing - providing results to a member of the Nursing/Medical Team.
- Reviewing patient results and referring any positive or abnormal results to the relevant clinician for action.
- Provide Chaperoning, advocacy and support for patients attending the clinic for genital examination or treatment. Supporting the clinician in preparation of clinical areas and passing of instruments during procedures.
- Phlebotomy - obtaining venous blood sampling from patients following appropriate training and support from the Registered Nurse.

- GCSE English & Maths Grades A*-C or equivalent experience
