**Job description**:

- Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate is one of the three government enforcement bodies that regulate the labour market. Specifically EAS has regulatory responsibility for the growing recruitment sector in Great Britain.
- We are a professional and hardworking team, and are pleased to be recruiting for 6 Inspectors in Salford for a new team, 3 inspectors to join the existing Birmingham team and 1 inspector each to join the existing Cardiff and London teams.
- Are you a self-starter with strong customer service skills who is comfortable speaking to workers, businesses and stakeholders alike both face to face and on the telephone? This is a great opportunity for someone who is comfortable learning complex information and imparting their knowledge to protect workers and support businesses.
- The role gives opportunity for travel around the country and working across the enforcement landscape with partner organisations.**Person specification**:

- Conduct investigations into complaints about the conduct of employment in accordance with EAS guidance and policies;
- Participate in targeted inspections during EAS planned operations (in geographical locations or sectors);
- Plan, prioritise and manage time and resources to deliver an effective and efficient service;
- Prepare clear and constructive Warning Letters and guidance to agencies, produce reports on all cases investigated, update complainants on the progress or closure of their complaint;
- Ensure that records of investigations and inspections are maintained accurately and entered on to the EAS case management systems;
- Raise the profile of EAS role and functions to external bodies and partners;
- Respond to complaints and engage with agencies to resolve issues;
- Provide advice and guidance to individuals;
- In serious non-compliance cases, prepare Labour Market Enforcement Undertakings or Orders, or gather evidence from witnesses for lawyers to consider prosecution or prohibition;
- Potential attendance at Court (prosecution) or Employment Tribunal (prohibition) hearings in relation to EAS casework and giving evidence;
- Confidently engage with a range of stakeholders including business owners, trade bodies, workers and other law enforcement bodies.

- Be a self-starter with strong customer service skills;
- Be resilient and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including workers, company directors and lawyers;
- Have a proven track record of successfully managing a varied case load;
- Be able to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to deliver at pace;
- Be able to work as part of a team but also independently;
- Enjoy working in an environment which is inclusive as well as diverse where colleagues can be themselves.
