Production Operative

The Operations Department is fast paced with many customer orders running concurrently, it is important that you can work to the agreed production schedules to ensure that orders can be despatched on time and that the Operations Department can increase efficiencies in accordance with company goals.

Based in our head office in Coventry, you will be working as part of a vibrant Team, taking part in daily ‘huddles’ to help plan and prioritise the daily workload.

We are now expanding to have a mínimal evening shift and recruiting for a Production Operative who will be joining Maxwood Fabrications who will be cross skilled among all areas within the Operations department in the machining area.

The hours will be Monday to Thursday 15.00 -02.00 £10.50PH with an enhanced hourly rate for the hours worked after 17.00.

You would be working on the following machines to support where capacity was required and supporting the other team members on machines to increase their capacity allowance:
**Beam Saw**
- Operate the Beam Saw and warehouse system to cut laminates and other products as per the cutting list for each project.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures
- Maintain all required records
- Strict adherence to quality procedures

**CNC Machines.**

There are currently three CNC machines, you will be responsible for operating the various CNC machines within MFL.

Responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to specific required CNC Programme
- Strictly adhere to producing panels with consistent results that is accurate and following quality procedures.
- Be able to correctly read CAD drawings
- Updating manager on items completed, updating stock control system where required and production control information
- Identify and highlight to supervision process faults, errors and non-conformities.
- Undertake assembly, packing, cleaning and all machining and operating duties in the plant as the need arises.
- Understanding the risks, control measures and safety devices for the equipment operated and surrounding areas.
- Maintaining consistent satisfactory levels of housekeeping within the factory
- Conforming with all safety standards and use of appropriate PPE at all times.
- Perform simple machine cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Participate in monthly and cycle stock counts as required
- Attend all meetings required including a daily huddle to review daily work schedule

**Edgebander**

You will be responsible for:

- Operating the Edge Banding machine to place the edging along doors, worktops, tables and other similar products.
- Allocating Edge Banding stock to each project.
- Palletise all edged panels following standard processes
- Maintain the machine according to manufacturer recommendation.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures

**Key Role Requirements**:

- Previous experience with and woodworking machinery desirable
- Previous experience of working with Timber Materials desirable
- Previous experience working in a factory Environment
- FLT License desirable
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Keen to learn & develop their skill sets and product knowledge
- Computer literate and ability to use and understand ERP systems.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work as part of a motivated team and maintain close relationships with colleagues.
- Able to work independently with the ability to work within deadlines and under pressure.
- To uphold and promote the Company Values at all times
