About us

We are an exciting new independent business in the heart of the Suffolks area of Cheltenham, serving speciality coffee, cocktails and a curated wine list alongside a seasonal menu.

The Job role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated person with previous bar experience to join our front of house team at Sorrel. Working closely with the front of house management team, you’ll be an integral part of leading the business, training, supporting, and managing the team to ensure they have the tools to provide the best possible customer experience.

Essential attributes:

- Cocktail making skills
- Knowledge of a good wine list
- Forward thinking leadership
- Demonstrates passion for speciality food & drink
- Results-oriented
- High standards
- Barista trained (not essential but helpful)

Your responsibilities would include:

- High standards Front of House service, including taking orders, making & serving drinks
- Ensuring all food & drink is served to a high standard
- Knowing the menu and making recommendations to customers
- Empowering the team with feedback and training
- Leading by example
- Maintaining health and safety and food hygiene standards at all times
- Cultivating a positive working environment
- Stock management and ordering
- Budgeting & cost analysis
- General maintenance and cleaning of the cafe
- Opening & closing the cafe
- Ensuring other staff fulfil their job responsibilities to a high standard
- Training and upskilling new team members
- Assisting the General & Kitchen manager with any other management related tasks
