**Personal Assistant - BL5**

**£12.60 per hour working with a young male client.**

**102 hours available for the year**

**5.6 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday per year.**

We require a motivated and friendly individual to assist a young male client within the Bolton area.

This role is for 102 hours a year, to be worked during school holidays making it perfect for someone who works term time. Further hours will be available for evenings and weekend. These hours will be discussed further with the employer.

**Main duties**:

- To always provide full supervision when working with the client and ensure doors are locked due to chances of absconding
- To support the client to access the community on days out and to the park. This will include encouragement for the client to be active and participate in play.
- To think of and create activities which keeps the client occupied for example reading, drawing and playing in the garden
- To be able to push his wheelchair which he uses this daily for distance and to get around
- To support within the home, helping with dressing and personal care including reinforcing a positive toilet routine. More details to be discussed with the employer
- To support the client during mealtimes to ensure he is eating safely
- To supervise the client when going up and down steps/stairs to ensure he does this safely

**Desired skills and attributes**:

- Previous experience working with disabled children with complex behavioural needs
- A calm and patient manner who can still be cheerful and fun when needed
- Someone who can build a good relationship with the young boy
- To show initiative and creativity
- To have great communication skills who can understand and respond to behaviours
- To provide any previous qualifications which may support you in this role
- Be willing to complete any training required by the employer
